Part 2: Learning

4. In your application, you outlined some learning questions. What did you learn from these learning questions when you implemented your project? How do you hope to use this learnings in the future? You can recall these learning questions below. (required)

You can recall these learning questions below: Through this project, we want to answer the following questions:

  1. Are there cultural biases working against gender equality in Northern Nigeria?
  1. Are there voices yet to be heard within the project area?
  1. Are there areas that are yet to be reached within Hausa Communities?
  1. Will the planned partnerships spur effective collaboration and add to the number of active contributors?
  1. Will these new approaches help retain active contributors who stay and edit Wikiquote (and other Wikimedia Projects) even after the SheSaid
  1. Can we add up to the number of women quotations from local Hausa poets, artists, politicians, academics, etc on Wikiquote?
These questions will be achieved via Structured survey to be answered by participants.

Through this project we identify that:

  • there are cultural biases working against gender equality in Northern NIgeria and there are many voices yet to be heard across the project area.
  • We partner and collaborated with Institutions and Women organisation and this bring more number of participants and awareness within the Hausa Communities.
  • We register 100 new participants and add them on our social groups platforms for continuous mentorship and support
  • we created and improved more than 3000 articles during the project. We added new articles from Hausa native poets and speakers and we'll continue to do so.

5. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences? (required)

We saw a lot of commitment from our new participants and this shows that the project goals are achieved and there is a need for continued activities for mentorship

6. What is your plan to share your project learnings and results with other community members? If you have already done it, describe how. (required)

We will create a diff page.
