We are submitting this grant proposal to support the SheSaid campaign in Gungbe Wikiquote by increasing the visibility of women's voices by adding quotes from notable women to Wikiquote in the Gungbe language. While the focus includes Gungbe-speaking women, the project also extends to translating quotes of notable Nigerian women from English into Gungbe, thus promoting inclusivity and cross-cultural representation.
Currently, Gungbe Wikiquote lacks sufficient representation of women. There is both a gender and linguistic content gap. This campaign aims to address these gaps through:
Creating and translating Wikiquote pages about notable women.
Engaging women in Gungbe-speaking areas such as Badagry, Lagos State and Ogun State.
Establishing sustainable content contribution habits among new editors.
We aim to not only boost content volume but also ensure quality, engagement, and long-term participation.
- 7. What are the planned activities? (required) Please provide a list of main activities. You can also add a link to the public page for your project where details about your project can be found.
