The proposal seeks to Translate the most important messages of the MediaWiki software on translatewiki.net in Margi language and also translate some articles in the wikimedia incubator from the English wikipedia to Margi test wiki project. Challenges or problems we are trying to solve are that a lot of people have no idea of wikipedia and its sister projects and this is to create awareness of Wikipedia and its sister projects by recruiting volunteers who will be interested in contributing to wikipedia and its sister projects. the project will train volunteers to be equipped with the relevant skills to translate the most used/ most important messages of the MediaWiki software on translatewiki.net in Margi language and also translate some English articles to Margi language in the wikimedia incubator. An awareness campaign will be launched in Maiduguri and afterwards, volunteers interested in contributing to free knowledge will be trained on how to translate the most important messages of the MediaWiki

The planned activities for this program are as follows:
- Orientation on Wikimedia projects and awareness creation.
- Account creation for new users.
- Content translations to Margi in the Wikipedia Incubator and Translatewiki.
- Publicity using our social media handle(s).

Female Rep- Jidda3711: Her work will includes ensuring a smooth inclusivity plan for the new editors of Margi wikipedia. This will foster an appropriate oppoturnities for the females in taking leadership oppoturnities as the community of the Margi language progress, hence problems of non-inclusivity will be saved from the scratch. 4.Facilitator- MohammedBama123 : He is an experienced editor and facilitator of various Wikipedia events.

The target participants are the Margi language speakers within and around the University of Maiduguri (Unimaid), those recommended by the Margi Educational and Cultural Organization, with whom we are in talks on this event, and those who will honour our social media invitations to be present.
To engage participants, a Meta-Wiki page was created for the event where they can register as participants. Also, since the event will be in person, my team and I will put them through the basics of editing the Margi language in the Wikimedia Incubator and Translatewiki.
We have a group created on WhatsApp to coordinate the event before, during, and after the event. We shall communicate with these editors using that social media channel and others.

We hope to learn what passion inspire participants to this project. We hope to learn the challenges that hinders participants contributing to the free knowledge. We hope to learn how the team collaborate to strategically translate unfamiliar/scientific messages into Margi language. We hope to learn how user friendly the incubator is regarding translation and creation of articles.
