The user group obtained some photo equipment via Rapid Grant eight years ago (in 2017). The equipment had immense returns over its lifetime, garnering over 4.3 million views in a 12-month period assessed last October. This number was just the organised photo projects. If adhoc photos are also included, the total views is as high as, or exceeds, 1.7 million views per month.

The main scope of this funding request is as follows:

  • Renew the 8-year-old photo equipment of the usergroup
  • Continue to support future photo projects with readily available equipment

For the initial photo project using the new photo equipment, a minimum of 3-4 participants will be encouraged to join.

Similar to the original equipment request (eight years ago) - the photo equipment will be available for use for any member of the usergoup for any photo or video project falling in scope of the wider Wikimedia movement. Availability of the equipment will be advertised on-site, on mailing lists, and on our social media (as last time).

A report will be created for each organised project using the usergroup equipment. Past reports can be found in the talkpages of the previous project meta pages.
