This longstanding tradition, which has been cherished for hundreds of years, holds significant cultural value to the community and always highlights annually in various communities in the Andoni local government. The annual’s festivities kicked off in the early hours of the morning with the traditional canon firing signalling the start of the activities. A high-spirited parade of young men, symbolizing their transition into adulthood to join the ‘ogbo-anange’, showcased vibrant displays of tradition, including singing, chants, and dances that resonated throughout the town.

A central cultural highlight of the festival was the ceremonial presentation of the traditional salad ‘ogo’ to visitors. According to the tradition, elderly women performed a captivating dance as they carried the tray of spicy palm oil-drenched fish meal to offer to the king regent, who represented the king of Unyeada Kingdom. This traditional ritual added a touch of heritage and respect to the event as the Ogo traditional salad was then presented to dignitaries in attendance. Andoni Cultural heritage is a reflection of society, and its preservation is vital for maintaining cultural diversity, fostering a sense of belonging, and passing down knowledge to future generations. 1. Boat Regatta : December 2024 in Asarama New Road,

2. Peace and Unity Walk : January 2025 in Asarama,

3. Ikuru traditional wrestling: 4th January 2025 at Ikuru Beach,

5. Main Cultural Carnival display: January 2025, at Ngo Town.

However, proper documentation of cultural artefacts, traditions, and "Obolo historical sites and landmarks" are essential for Andoni heritage and tradition preservation. This includes recording oral traditions, cataloguing artefacts, and creating digital archives on the wikipedia, and also promoting awareness and understanding of Obolo cultural heritage, which is crucial for open knowledge, education programs, museums, and cultural events in helping to raise public consciousness about the importance of open source knowledge. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andoni
