We organized two physical workshops; the first day provided a training on editing Wikipedia, and Wikidata while the second day focused on Wikiqoute and Wikimedia Commons followed by online guide and mentoring for the rest of the project's period. We selected topics including Women and their history, culture, and social life in Northern Nigeria to aligned with our goal for celebrating the International women's day. We ensured many young and married women have joined us both physically and virtually for this activities.

The project was a huge success as it recorded more than 2000 new articles about African women biographies thereby reduccing the existing content gender gap. Also many more women articles were created on the Fulfulde Wikiqoute which is still in the Wikimedia Incubator.

Part 2: Learning

4. In your application, you outlined some learning questions. What did you learn from these learning questions when you implemented your project? How do you hope to use this learnings in the future? You can recall these learning questions below. (required)

You can recall these learning questions below: 1. How do cultural and social factors influence women’s participation and retention as editors?

2. Which strategies are most effective for attracting and sustaining women editors on Fulfulde Wikipedia?

3. How did the organizers encourage the creation of high-quality articles on topics related to women and gender issues?

4. How can insights from this project contribute to Wikimedia’s global efforts to close the gender gap?

5. What indicators can show that diversity and inclusivity have improved within the Fulfulde Wikimedia community?

1. Cultural and social factors have influenced women’s participation and retention as editors in this project due to how the women were percieved in attending outdoor activities like the physical workshops in the hosting community. 2. Telling them that the event focused on women issues and that it's women only event is the trick that works best because many women are afraid to attend mix gender events due to the societal norms. 3. The contest arranged with the prizes as well as rules guiding the participation in the contest have helped alot in that. Also, regular reminder which the organizers keep sharing in the group has helped in making the participants understood the importance of creating good articles. 4. Giving more female organizers the necessary support can help in bringing in more female contributors. 5. The contents created and the gender majority of the participants.

5. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences? (required)

No, things worked as planned.

6. What is your plan to share your project learnings and results with other community members? If you have already done it, describe how. (required)

I shared the results in the project's group and the general group for Fulfulde Wikimedians.
