Wiki4Inclusion Campaign in Tanzania aims at bridging the gap of including people with disability in a digital space and increasing Swahili language contents to Wikimedia projects relating to people with hearing impairment. This proposal concerns Phase 2 (two) of the project after a big step that we have made in phase 1 (one) [1] which includes launching of the project for the first time in our country reaching out to the underserved communities of people with hearing impairment and sign language interpreters. As being narrated in our previous report [2], we intend to make the project sustainable and more engaging to our target groups, that why we are seeking support to implement planned activities to be implemented in our next move, and this is what is expected from our collaborators and beneficiaries like Patandi Maalum Secondary School, where we established our club and being challenged to make the initiative sustainable and not an one time event. We wished for this opportunity and we are ready to take advantage of it by providing more trainings and enrolling other members after the first intake. So, in Phase 2 we are expecting to:

1. Provide more trainings to our group and club members (Wiki4Inclusion Dar Group, most based in Dar es salaam region and Wiki4Inclusion Patandi Maalum Sec. School Club based in Arusha region). [3], [4]

2. Recruit other new editors (or members) to our group and club, this will be the outcome of other physical trainings and editathons which will be organized and facilitated by our team which consists of experienced Wikimedians and sign language interpreters. At Patandi Maalum Secondary School, we formulated a club with first intake of 23 members, so in Phase 2 we are expecting to add another intake of 20 or (20+) participants. According to statistics, the school has 257 hearing impaired students till the end of academic year 2024, so we expect to train most of them if not all in phases with other schools in Arusha and other regions in our country.

3. Add more images and videos to Wikimedia Commons as well as improving Wikidata

items.

4. Introduce and contribute to Swahili Wikiquote which is in Wikimedia Incubation as an initiative to add more contributors and contents for it to be moved to the main space. We are planning to translate

articles from English Wikiquote to Swahili Wikiquote. For instance, working on this category [5] concerning disability.
7. What are the planned activities? (required) Please provide a list of main activities. You can also add a link to the public page for your project where details about your project can be found. Alternatively, you can upload a timeline document. When the activities include partnerships, include details about your partners and planned partnerships.

We are planning to organize two ( 2) trainings and edit-a-thons in Dar es salaam and Arusha regions for our group and club members as well as newbies. Our Phase 1 milestone and coverage can be viewed here: 1.[6] 2. [7]

We shall train newbies and members on how to contribute on Swahili Wikiquote which is still in Wikimedia Incubation as an initiative to add more contributors and contents for it to be moved to the main space, but also on how to contribute to Wikipedia and Wikidata.

Also, we are planning to add more images and videos to Wikimedia Commons relating to deafs and Tanzanian sign language. These will generally be found in project category:[8]

As we have identified that hearing impaired people need attention and time to digest things, we shall be available to extend sessions under the same budget as we did in Phase 1. Also, running periodical online sessions to guide and assist most of them with the need.

Moreover, revisiting and having small training sessions after the main sessions for our club members.

In addition to the above activities, our group of facilitators in collaboration with experienced Wikimedians shall have clean up program for generated contents to reduce burden to our admins.

8. Describe your team. Please provide their roles, Wikimedia Usernames and other details.
