Part 1 Understanding your work[edit]

1. Briefly describe how your proposed activities and strategies were implemented

The project took place in Rwanda, mostly in Kigali the capital city. We tried to invite people from different places mostly new editors. We used Whatsapp, phone call, email and Google Forms to inform, invite, select and update people about the campaign. We managed to run the campaign for 14 days with one big physical event for launching project and another physical meeting for closing, and within the campaign period we run 3 online sessions for providing trainings and more insights about the SheSaid campaign. In support of project organizers, the participants learned how to edit Wikiquote.

2. Were there any strategies or approaches that you felt were effective in achieving your goals? Please describe these strategies and approaches.

The launching physical event and other online trainings were the main strategies that helped us to achieve the goals. The other strategy I can mention is running a campaign in manageable time, manageable time helped us to make follow up and assisting participants to the fullest and it kept them in mood of campaign until the deadline which resulted in achieving our goals.

3. Please use this space to upload media and other files that help tell your story and impact.

4. To what extent do you agree with the following statements regarding the work carried out with the support of this Fund? You can choose “not applicable” if your work does not relate to these goals.

Our efforts during the Fund period have helped to...
A. Bring in participants from underrepresented groups Strongly agree
B. Create a more inclusive and connected culture in our community Agree
C. Develop content about underrepresented topics/groups Strongly agree
D. Develop content from underrepresented perspectives Strongly agree
E. Encourage the retention of editors Strongly agree
F. Encourage the retention of organizers Agree

5. Is there anything else you would like to share about how your efforts helped to bring in participants and/or build out content, particularly for underrepresented groups?

We managed raise the voice of Rwandan women by creating women pages and adding their quotes on Wikiquote.

Part 2: Your main learning[edit]

6. In your application, you outlined your learning priorities. What did you learn about these areas during this period?

I learned that Rwandan community is able of bridging any gap especial on internet gaps, because only in one campaign we managed to create about 280 new pages of Rwandan notable women on wikiquote this means we can achieve more in Wikimedia movement.

7. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences?

8. How do you hope to use this learning? For instance, do you have any new priorities, ideas for activities, or goals for the future?

Yes, we have other ideas for more activities in future and we aim to learn from our strengths and weaknesses in order to make more better future activities.

9. Documentation of resources: Use this space to upload any documents that would be useful to share with others (e.g. communications material, training material, presentations).
