Le Gabon, terre d'une biodiversité exceptionnelle, abrite une richesse agricole et culinaire souvent méconnue. Notre pays, riche de forêts équatoriales, de savanes et de côtes, offre une diversité de terroirs qui se reflète dans une gastronomie unique. Pourtant, cette diversité alimentaire, fruit de siècles de savoir-faire, manque cruellement de visibilité sur la scène internationale. De la forêt dense à l'Estuaire, les Gabonais entretiennent un lien étroit avec la nature, cultivant une multitude de produits locaux. Les techniques de culture, de transformation et de consommation varient d'une région à l'autre, témoignant d'une grande diversité culturelle. Cependant, cette richesse patrimoniale reste largement invisible sur les plateformes wikimedia. Les contenus Wikimedia sur l'alimentation gabonaise sont encore peu nombreux et manquent de profondeur. Il est urgent de combler ce vide en documentant de manière visuelle et exhaustive les différentes étapes de la chaîne alimentaire, de la production à la table.

Wikimedia Gabon se concentrera sur des activités de prise de photos et de vidéos dans le cadre du thème « De la ferme à l'assiette » de Wiki Loves Africa. Les images seront téléchargées sur Wikimedia commons et seront utilisées pour présenter la gastronomie gabonaise, illustrer des articles relatifs au Gabon et à l'Afrique sur Wikipédia et ses projets apparentés, ainsi que sur d'autres catégories de Wiki. Une exposition des meilleures images sera organisée pour encourager les participants et récompenser les meilleures photos & vidéos.

Le concours Wiki Loves Africa 2025 au Gabon s'adresse à tous les passionnés de photographie et de culture gabonaise, qu'ils soient professionnels ou amateurs, membres de la communauté Wikimedia ou simples citoyens. Pour engager un large public, nous mettrons en place une stratégie de communication multicanal : communication sur les réseaux sociaux, partenariats avec des médias locaux et des organisations agricoles.
Des ateliers de formation en photographie, vidéographie et sur l'utilisation de Wikimedia Commons & ses projets frères seront organisés pour accompagner les participants.
Un groupe WhatsApp permettra de faciliter les échanges. Après le concours, nous maintiendrons la dynamique en organisant des événements de valorisation des contributions, en proposant un programme de mentorat pour les nouveaux contributeurs. Cette approche vise à créer une communauté active autour du projet et à favoriser l'enrichissement des contenus sur Wikimedia Commons et ses projets frères.
