Le Wiki Loves Africa 2026 est un évènement important, pour la communauté wikimédienne de l’Afrique et surtout du Gabon dans la mesure où elle permet :
- La représentativité des traditions gabonaises et africaines sur les plateformes Wikimedia
- La formation des bénévoles sur divers ateliers (Wikicommons, Wikidata, Wikipédia et Wikiquote)
Pour ce faire, nous comptons organiser des :
- Ateliers de formation
- Visites et excursions dans des lieux renfermant les traditions gabonaises
- Séances photos de ces divers lieux
- Organisation d’un concours qui primera les meilleures photos prises dans le cadre de Wiki Loves Africa 2026

Nous prévoyons des activités telles que :
- Des Ateliers sur l’initiation aux plateformes Wikimedia
- Des ateliers de découverte du programme Wiki Loves Africa 2026 aux participants
- Le lancement du concours photographique au niveau local
- L’immersion dans des lieux traditionnels et culturel du Gabon
- La remise des prix aux lauréats du concours photographique
Le but est de sensibiliser les populations gabonaises et la communauté wikimédia sur la nécessité de valoriser la diversité culturelle du Gabon ou de l’Afrique. Par ailleurs, cette valorisation passe également par la préservation des traditions pour les générations futures. Wiki Loves Africa de l’année 2026 marque ainsi un cadre propice pour mettre en avant la culture du continent africain sur les plateformes Wikimedia.

Membres de la Team : Mel61226 est la leader de la communauté Wikimedia Gabon. Elle est assistée par plusieurs bénévoles : DiHM et Estrella230 bénévoles aguerris qui se chargent de former les nouveaux adhérents sur Wikidata, Wikicommons et Wikiquote. La bénévole Obe Estelle quant à elle est chargée de la communication, tandis que Le plurilingue, et Ferlly Prince à travers leurs talents se chargent de la photographie lors des ateliers. Enfin Serge Mabiala est un contributeur actif de notre communauté. Nous sommes tous bénévoles.

Nous voulons vraiment que le Gabon soit représenté sur les plateformes Wiki, nous attendons un grand impact de notre travail et nous espérons que celui-ci servira d'appui pour documenter des articles sur le Gabon. Nous aimerions aussi analyser, l’évolution de nos bénévoles dans les activités du mouvement.
