Le changement que nous souhaitons apporter à travers notre participation à Wiki Loves Earth 2025 est de mettre en lumière l’écologie urbaine dans quatre grandes régions de Madagascar (Analamanga, Haute Matsiatra, Boeny et Diana), en valorisant les espaces verts, les corridors écologiques, les zones humides urbaines, et les initiatives locales de préservation environnementale à travers des photographies partagées librement sur Wikimedia Commons.

À Madagascar, les zones urbaines sont en pleine expansion, souvent au détriment de la nature. Pourtant, des fragments d’écosystèmes naturels subsistent en ville : parcs urbains, forêts relictuelles, jardins botaniques, rizières périurbaines, lacs ou encore espèces faunistiques adaptables à la ville. Ces espaces sont rarement documentés et peu représentés sur les plateformes collaboratives comme Wikimedia Commons. L’un de nos objectifs est donc de combler ce vide visuel et informationnel, tout en sensibilisant les citoyens à la richesse écologique qui subsiste même en milieu urbain.

Les défis auxquels nous faisons face incluent :

Le manque d’images libres illustrant les paysages et espèces typiques de l’écologie urbaine malgache ;

La faible sensibilisation du public à l’importance de ces espaces naturels urbains ;

Le manque de compétences techniques (photographie, retouche, téléversement) chez les nouveaux contributeurs ;

Et l’accès limité à une documentation visuelle éducative sur la nature en ville.

Nos principales approches pour répondre à ces défis sont :

Former les participants à la photographie de nature urbaine, à l’édition d’image et au téléversement sur Wikimedia Commons, à travers des ateliers pratiques dans chaque région ciblée ;

Organiser des sorties photo guidées dans les zones urbaines ou périurbaines présentant un intérêt écologique (comme le lac Anosy à Antananarivo, les falaises de l’Isandra à Fianarantsoa, la mangrove urbaine de Mahajanga ou les jardins botaniques de Diego Suarez) ;

Accompagner les participants dans le processus de téléversement à travers des sessions d’assistance personnalisée pour réduire les barrières techniques ;

Créer une collection visuelle ouverte et de haute qualité sur Wikimedia Commons, représentant l’écologie urbaine malgache dans toute sa diversité ;

Récompenser les meilleures contributions afin d’encourager l'engagement, la qualité et la continuité dans la participation.

Cette initiative vise à favoriser une meilleure compréhension de l’environnement urbain malgache et à catalyser une culture citoyenne de conservation, même en milieu urbain. À terme, nous espérons contribuer à un changement de perception : que la nature en ville ne soit plus perçue comme secondaire, mais comme un patrimoine écologique à protéger et à valoriser.

Les participants cibles sont 60 contributeurs et professionnels venant de 4 régions de Madagascar. Un appel aux contributeurs par région sera lancé au début du mois de juillet pour le recrutement. Ils vont participer à l'atelier de formation, à la sortie de photo, à la session de téléversement et à la remise de prix.

En préparant cette demande de financement, j’ai appris à structurer une requête de microfinancement efficace, tout en tenant compte des spécificités locales et environnementales. Ce processus m’a également permis de mieux comprendre les dynamiques de collaboration interculturelle et interrégionale, en adaptant notre approche aux réalités écologiques et sociales propres aux régions d’Analamanga, Haute Matsiatra, Boeny et Diana.
