Wiki Loves Folklore

6. What is the change you are trying to bring? What are the main challenges or problems you are trying to solve? Describe this change or challenges, as well as main approaches to achieve it. (required)

In the context of the Wiki Loves Folklore 2024 contest in Benin, the change we aim to bring is the preservation and promotion of Beninese folklore through enhanced documentation and accessibility. Wiki Loves Folklore 2024 in Benin will focus on photo shooting activities. Pictures will be uploaded on commons and will be used to illustrate Beninese related articles on Wikipedia and on its sister projects.

Alternatively, you can upload a timeline document. When the activities include partnerships, include details about your partners and planned partnerships.

We've planned : One launching event at the beginning of the contest. 3 upload and edit (training) sessions. One session will be dedicated to the newly launched fon.wikipedia.org project. One end session to award the best photos and uploaders.

The contest is open to everyone. There is no exception. Anyone, Beninese or not, wikimedian or not, having photos related to Benin's folklore will be welcome to participate. We will encourage professional photographers to participate in the contest to have quality photos. Before and during the activities, we will engage the participants through communication, and meetings. To follow up with the participants after the activities, we will create a communication channel to keep in contact with them.
