The work will contribute to ensure sustainable and verifiable content.

6. What is the change you are trying to bring? What are the main challenges or problems you are trying to solve? Describe this change or challenges, as well as main approaches to achieve it. (required)

Through this campaign, We want to bring a change that will set an example of small Wiki's like Swahili Wikipedia more reliable, sustainable and trusted by its reader and editors. Here are the challenges we are solving:

1. Content quality backlog: Many of articles tagged as computer generated, marked for speedy deletion are missing references or poorly structured. This backlog reduces the credibility of Swahili Wikipedia and denies readers access to accurate, trustworthy knowledge. Some of these articles were created during past campaigns, but were left unrepaired, creating sustainability challenges.

2. Leadership and mentorship gap: After going through the statistics, Admin activeness in Swahili Wikipedia community is low compared to the daily/monthly generated contents, with fewer admins who are performing their administrative roles, the community struggles to enforce standards, guide new users and prepare future leaders, risking long term stagnation. We have seen this after the passing of fellow admin User:Kipala.

Our approach to solving these challenges is: 1. Quality improvement drives: Clean reference, rescue tagged articles including those generated in past campaigns.

2. Community engagement through edit-a-thorn: To organize collaborative events that divides articles among participants for systematic improvement.

3. Mentorship and training: Experienced editors and admins will teach new users how to reference, improve neutrality and meet quality standards.

4. Competition and recognition: Motivate contributors by recognitions, either by Banstar, rewarding top editors who rectify the most articles.

5. Leadership development: Identify, mentor and prepare new potential admins to ensure long term sustainability on Swahili Wikipedia and set a new standard that can be adopted by other Wiki's.

This project contributes to multiple SDGs by making knowledge, free, reliable, and accessible in Swahili: SDG 4 - Quality Education, By improving articles reliability, Swahili Wikipedia becomes a stronger educational resource for students, teachers and researchers. Later on partnering with platforms like Kiwix to ensure this quality education is available offline even in rural areas. SDG 17 - Partnerships for the Goals: By linking with campaigns like #1Lib1Ref and Wiki Loves Women, the project promotes collaboration across initiatives for greater impact.

SDG 10 - Reduced Inequalities: By empowering new editors, including youth and underrepresented groups, the project reduces barriers to participation in global knowledge. By addressing both content quality and community leadership, Wiki Loves QnQ will reduce the backlog of poor articles, rescue content from deletion, and make Swahili Wikipedia more trusted. At the same time, it will build a stronger, more sustainable community of contributors, aligned with global development priorities.
