The Central Kanuri is a language spoken by millions of people across sub-saharan Africa. It is well known by its rich culture and most of it’s speakers are found in the North Eastern part of Nigeria, mostly Borno, Yobe, Bauchi etc and other Northern States. The Kanuri people are new to Wikimedia Projects. and the Kanuri Wikiquote (on Incubator) has few articles and editors, Furthermore there are few women editors on Kanuri Wikis and they are not aware of the Wiki Loves Women Campaign. For the first time, we want to join this beautiful campaign aimed to bridging gender gap, increasing visibility of women, and amflifying their voices via the SheSaid drive. Thus, our drive to join the SheSaid campaign this year stems from the need for awareness about the SheSaid campaign and gender equality both on wiki and off wiki, increasing visibility of women from Kanuri language speakers, amplifying their voices, as well training these participants on how to contribute to Kanuri Wikiquote (incubator). Further more, there are popular Kanuri women who have made significant contributions both locally and internationally whom there works or voices are not heard or documented. We will focus on adding such articles to Kanuri Wikiquote. We will collaborate with the Central Kanuri women associations and the Nigerian association of women journalist Borno state chapter, to make more visibility of women voices around the globe by teaching them how to contribute to Kanuri Wikiquote(incubator).
