Part 1: Project and impact

1. Describe the implemented activities and results achieved. Additionally, share which approaches were most effective in supporting you to achieve the results. (required)

The workshop was conducted. It gained not so much traction as Tashkent one, while the community in Bishkek is smaller, but people who've attended there were more dedicated in general than people attending in Tashkent. This time we tried to manage the workshop better and separated courses for 2 blocks each block for eah day: camera working block and computer working block, so the participants could take only either camera or laptop with them and not to overload themselves.

2. Documentation of your impact. Please use space below to share links that help tell your story, impact, and evaluation. (required)

Share links to:

  • Project page on Meta-Wiki or any other Wikimedia project

Part 2: Learning

4. In your application, you outlined some learning questions. What did you learn from these learning questions when you implemented your project? How do you hope to use this learnings in the future? You can recall these learning questions below. (required)

You can recall these learning questions below: Learning of this proposal goes much deeper than the project itself. It requires us to count the quality images at the photographic contests and in general in Kyrgyzstan for a year at least to understand how our teaching methods have impacted the local community.

For now the Wiki Loves Earth contest in Kyrygzstan is going, so it's kind of hard to predict the outcomes, but currently 4 of the workshop participants are actively uploading photos for the contest.

Also we can mention that during the workshop few of the participants were introduced to a lot of valuable tools and projects on Commons helping to improve the quality of one's photos, such as Quality images project and started to use them.

5. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences? (required)

One of the trainers had to cancel his participation last minute. Two others jumped in to substitute their colleague and put a lot of extra time into the preparation for the topic. Also the planned venue cancelled our booking so we needed to rebook other one for a larger price and with less favorable conditions.

6. What is your plan to share your project learnings and results with other community members? If you have already done it, describe how. (required)

We've posted photos from the event with a brief description in Central Asian and Kyrgyz Wikimedia chats both in Watsapp and Telegram.

Part 3: Metrics

7. Wikimedia Metrics results. (required)

In your application, you set some Wikimedia targets in numbers (Wikimedia metrics). In this section, you will describe the achieved results and provide links to the tools used.

Target Results Comments and tools used
Number of participants 25 13 The number wasn't as large as we hoped, but afterwards we came to a conclusion that it's not number that maters but dedication of the participants in general, so next time we'll aim for a smaller number of participants.
Number of editors 25 13
Number of organizers 2 2
