The project aimed at Combating Health Misinformation and Disinformation in Akwa Ibom and Rivers State through Wikimedia projects. To achieve the project's goal, the team recruited participants from the Rivers State College of Nursing Sciences and the College of Health Sciences, University of Uyo, in conjunction with the Wikimedia Akwa Ibom Network. At the end of the campaign, the campaign recorded huge successes with over 1001 articles improved across Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Wikicommons and over 78 editors participated in the campaign.

Part 2: Learning
4. In your application, you outlined some learning questions. What did you learn from these learning questions when you implemented your project? How do you hope to use this learnings in the future? You can recall these learning questions below. (required)
You can recall these learning questions below: 1. We hope to learn how engagement with youths and undergraduate medical students can be used in contributing to Wikimedia projects aimed at reducing misinformation and disinformation among people in society. 2. We hope to create awareness about the misinformation and disinformation on health-related content in Akwa Ibom and Rivers State and attract experts in the medical field who can develop strategies that will be used to curb this menace to improve the health of people in these states. 3. We hope to gain insights into how underrepresented groups in Wikimedia appreciate Wikimedia trainings and how they contribute to Wikimedia projects. Also, we hope to learn how to ensure continuous performance from participants and active contribution to Wikimedia projects from their various language and fan club groups. 4. We hope to understand the role of health literacy in ensuring a safe environment by creating health literacy ambassadors through Wikimedia projects that will champion a safe environment.
The project exposed us to the level of knowledge of health misinformation and disinformation among medical students in Rivers and Akwa Ibom state. At the end of the project, we were able to create awareness about how to use wikimedia projects to reduce misinformation and disinformation in the above mentioned states. Also, through interaction with the heads of institutions, we were informed about current strategies employed by the government to curb health misinformation and disinformation. By adding new participants to the various wiki networks and language groups in Nigeria, we have been able to create a mechanism for retaining editors.
5. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences? (required)
It was a smooth event. The only unexpected issue was the brief distraction around the dashboard not tracking the contributions of editors. This was resolved by the administrative team in no time.
6. What is your plan to share your project learnings and results with other community members? If you have already done it, describe how. (required)
A diff post is on the way and there will be post project meetings in the Port Harcourt Wikimedia Hub to share our learning.
