1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

Mai Idris Alooma is one of the very few Polytechnics in Nigeria that offers humanities courses including a school for Nigerian languages with departments like Fulfulde, Hausa and Kanuri language combinations which are among the courses which the most populated students yet, sadly, there was no any Wikimedia Awareness that has ever happened in the environment which means a lot more and well deserved group of people who are supposed to be aware of volunteering to Wikipedia and its sister projects were missing out. It of this point that this project is aimed to be a golden opportunity for students and staff of Mai Idris Alooma Polytechnic to be introduced to Wikipedia and its sister projects like Wikidata, Wikiquotes and Wikimedia Commons.

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

1. The main goal is to raise an alarm and bring awareness to Wikimedia projects and create fresh set of volunteers who would be later engage to continue contributing even after the project. Therefore, the project will accommodate not only native speakers of Fulfulde but also Kanuri and Hausa students studying in the school of Humanities and Social Science which will give them room to make input in the existing Wikipedias dedicated to their languages.

2. I will also collaborate with the student union groups like the Student Union Government to help with coordinating the on campus awareness campaign.
3. I will also ensure that women were giving the chance to participate in the project as many project in northern Nigeria happened to be done with very few number of women participation as this will help control the differences of gender gap.
4. I will negotiate with the management of the Polytechnic to get the space within the school as this will help in receiving the targeted populace to be present during the training.
3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?

To ensure achieving the desired goals of the project we planned to carry out the campaign and edit-a-thon in the following sequence: Day 1:  Awareness campaign within the Polytechnic to reach the entire populace including the staff and the students. Day 2:  Edit-a-thon training that would involve hands-on-key board practical session and account opening sessions for the newly recruited editors among the participants of the programme. Day 3:  Post-programme campaign that would serve as a mop-up activity to clear any on-spot needs of the trained editors and the general members of the host community.

4. Are your activities part of a Wikimedia movement campaign or event? If so, please select the relevant campaign below. If so, please select all the relevant campaigns from the list below. If "other", please state which.
