1. Describe the implemented activities and results achieved. Additionally, share which approaches were most effective in supporting you to achieve the results. (required)

As outlined in our activity plan for January 2026 - June 2026 and the grant application, we implemented a centralised series of regular capacity building workshops, focusing on advancing the community members skills, volunteer retention, strengthen community capacity, develop technical skills in editing, expand knowledge of using the Wikimedia projects and strengthen the leadership and governance for the overall growth of the Wikimedia Fulfulde Community as well as the sustainability of its Hubs/Fan Clubs.

We implemented 7 capacity building workshops across 3 states and engaged more than 200 people. Each training focused on a particular theme that required the editors to focused on and create articles within that scope at the end of each training. This is how we organized and carried out the planned activities:

  • All the seven (7) total events were focused on capacity building trainings where the community members skills were boosted across our four established Fan Clubs/Hubs ensuring that everyone is involved.
  • As usual, the Volunteer Internet Data Support initiative which is meant to support active editors especially those who coudn't afford data has played an important role in boosting the participants morale and sustaining their participation through out this 6 month long project's period. It also helped us retain a good number of editors that have long been inactive due to lack of skills and internet access.

There was also a severe and ongoing power outages across northeastern states (our primary project areas) which resulted to complicated scheduled activities. On top of this, comes issues of unstable internet connectivity and that directly hindered volunteer participation, making consistent engagement and digital collaboration much more difficult than anticipated.
