Part 1 Understanding your work[edit]

1. Briefly describe how your proposed activities and strategies were implemented

Organizing a meet-up and training edit-a-thon to determine the theme: we announced at the beginning of every week, the focus area/theme which the participants were expected to create articles from by looking them up on English Wikipedia, During which we retrain the participants on the areas we realized they need more coaching and support.

Training and recruiting new sets of editors: the trainings were hosted in different locations including; Karasuwa, Kolere, Bajoga, Potiskum, Damaturu and Fika and that helped us in reaching out to more and more Fulfulde speaking communities from that we have on record 86 editors enrolled on the dashboard out of the 100+ who were recruited during the awareness and they were trained via the bi-weekly trainings.

Partnerships: live coverage was made by media companies including Sakiraabe Radio and Koode International Radio stations.

Establish communities: we identied the most engaged communities and have choosen them to be launched as Wikimedia Fulfulde Community Hubs/Fan Clubs/Networks in order to motivate them and ensure the retention of their very active participants. These are:

1. Fula Wikidata Lexicographers Hub
2. Fulfulde Wikipedia Funakaye Network
3. Fulfulde Commons Photographers Hub
4. Fula Wikipedia Federal College of Education (Technical) Potiskum Fan Club

2. Were there any strategies or approaches that you felt were effective in achieving your goals? Please describe these strategies and approaches.

1. Established Communities: because we used to explained to the participants at the beginning of every thematic week that their commitments to making more contribution will result to them having a chance to have an established community were they could be grouped together and act as a branch/affiliate of Wikimedia Fulfulde Community they gave it their very best.

2. Sustainable group: apart from the central group of Wikimedia Fulfulde Community were all the participants were added, each community of participants has a dedicated group where the participants can interact has created a

sense of belonging and a place where they can continue to learn long after the program.

3. Prizes: giving out prizes to the most contributing participants have played a vital role not just during the event but even after it as it keeps them motivated and expecting for another time.

3. Please use this space to upload media and other files that help tell your story and impact.
