Federal University Kashere is one of the newest Federal Universities in the Northeastern Nigeria with thousands of students and hundreds of teaching and non teaching staff. The project will contribute in three different ways; to make Wikipedia and it's sisters' project acceptable in the University Community, to encourage and engage the students and lecturers in contributing to Wikipedia and it's sisters' project and to create Federal University of Kashere Wikimedia Community.
Making Wikipedia and Sisters' Projects acceptable in Federal University of Kashere: Despite the uniqueness and popularity of Wikipedia and it's sisters' project, many lecturers and students lack trust in the projects because of the traditional believe that anyone can edit and anything can be added to the page. Based on these reasons, they do not accept Wikipedia as sources for referencing. To tackle this issue, I and my experienced Wikimedia editors team will carry out online and offline campaign at Federal University of Kashere on the genuineness and notability of Wikimedia projects.
Encouraging and engaging students and lecturers in contributing to Wikimedia projects: Many of the students and lecturers also believed that Wikimedia projects are carried out by robots or machines and the information there is not subject to change. To tackle this issue, I and my team will raise awareness on how to use Wikimedia projects for research purposes, this will attract the university community and from there they will be taught how to generally improve wikimedia contents.
Creating Federal University of Kashere Wikimedia Community: After training the staff and students, the only way to ensure their continuity of the project is to bring them together under a platform where issues and challenges faced by them in the process of contributing to Wikimedia projects can be solved. Therefore, the sustainability of the project necessitates the creation of this platform.
- 2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.
Wikimedia Promotions in Federal University of Kashere will be using the following Strategies;

We will share fliers and handbills containing information about Wikipedia and it's sister projects. During the process, we are going to recruit at least thirty five new editors who are willing to participate in Wikimedia projects and also connect with at least fifteen existing Wikimedia projects' editors.
Online onboarding session: This is aimed at introducing the new Wikimedia editors recruited during the awareness trip to the Wikimedia Foundation and its activities. This will also involve account creation and minor editing issues. The existing editors will also be strengthened with the session. The session will be carried out via zoom and the link will be publicised.
First Physical Workshop: This will be a one on one interaction with the fifty participants recruited. In the session, practical sessions will be hold on how to improve Wikipedia and it's sisters' projects.
