Niger Republic. The project will be in Maradi Region a Hausa city state near to Katsina State of Nigeria, my indigenous state.

1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

The city of Maradi is the second largest city of Niger Republic. And is the Hausa city state with the historical Hausa traditional emirate named "Sarkin Katsina of Maradi". There is a thousands of people living in the city and there is also higher institutions in the city, this project will try to reach out to the students and lectures in order to teach them how to make a research in Wikipedia and contribute to Wikimedia projects. And also this project will discover the Hausa heritage sites within Maradi city and also Maradi region to take images of them and upload to Wikimedia Commons. We will also take pictures of Cultures, foods, buildings architectures, rivers and other sites of the all Maradi Region. The project will also create and improve Maradi Related articles. The importance of change is, when this project reached people it will provide new editors and Veiwers of Wikimedia Projects. It also help people by making their research in Wikipedia. When we take images and upload to Commons, They will help by imroving Wikipedia articles related to Maradi, Niger and also some Hausa related articles.

3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?

We will take a trips around all Maradi Region's departments sharing flyers, discussion with the people and taking pictures. There is a workshop after the awareness Trips which we will train participants how they make research in Wikipedia and contribute to Wikimedia projects in order to recruit new editors.

I Yusuf Sa'adu, I'm a final year student of Hausa-English, I will lead the projects with help of these experienced Wikimedian. I'm Organizer of this project.

  • Gwanki, Is an experience Wikimedian, he has organized many Wikimedia Projects in Northern Nigeria. He's an administrator at Hausa Wikipedia. Gwanki he is training presenter.
  • Template:UHamza DK, An experience Wikimedian from Katsina State, he have also organised and Facilitated in many Wikimedia Projects. Hamza DK he is project photograph.
  • M Bash Ne, One of the biggest contributor of Hausa Wikipedia, he has organized and Facilitated in several Wikimedia Projects. He is seconds presenter training in the project.
  • Auwal Muhammad Maradi from Maradi Niger Republic. He will help us to walk with us from the beginning to the end of the project

9. Who are the target participants and from which community? How will you engage participants before and during the activities? How will you follow up with participants after the activities?

Our target participants are students of universities and calloges and their lecturers. These universities include Annahda University Maradi compus, Maryam Abacha American University Maradi, University De Maradi and others. We also targeted other people of Maradi residents.

Before activities we are discussing with some university students in Maradi via Telegram and Facebook. The call for participants will be done through socisl media. We will also work with the students Unions. During the event Me and other Facilitators we will help participant for creating account and make sure they learn how to edit Wikipedia and Wikipedia sister projects. Then during the trips we will be sharing Flyers to the people and giving them more information face to face. For follow up with participants after the activities, We will create a WhatsApp, Telegram or WhatsApp group were me and other Facilitators will continue engaging the participants.

10. In what ways are you actively seeking to contribute towards creating a safer, supportive, more equitable environment for participants?

We will make sure to have a hall in a safe and secure place. The remind the participants and the organisers of the importance of Wikimedia events friendly space policy we summarize the General friendly space policy for Wikimedia events before starting the event. We will hiring a local Texi for safer drive during Trips. Organisers will accommadate in a secure hotel.

I will inform them via Wikimedia User Group Nigeria, Hausa Wikipedia and Hausa Wikimedians User Group Discussion pages and Hausa Wikimedians community WhatsApp group.

I have freinds who are the students of Maryam Abacha American University Maradi they will help me to mobilise and communicate with the participants. There's a my freind who he is the student of University De Maradi, he will help me to mobilise people and guide us during trips.
