Project and impact

[edit]
1. How did your project go? Did you reach all project goals and success metrics?

The Wikipedia @25 Kwara State celebration was successfully implemented and achieved its core objectives. The event brought together information professionals, librarians, educators, and Wikimedia community members to commemorate Wikipedia’s 25-year milestone while strengthening local engagement within Kwara State.

We successfully met our primary goals, which was, Strengthening partnerships with educational institutions and library stakeholders we have worked with in Kwara State and Promoting collaboration within the Kwara Wikimedia community.

The program recorded strong participation and engagement throughout all sessions, including presentations, discussions, and the interactive team-building activity. The Question and Answer segment demonstrated genuine interest from participants who asked thoughtful questions about editing, sustainability, and deeper involvement in Wikimedia projects.

Our success metrics were reflected in:
1. Active participation and full attendance during the program
2. Positive feedback from partners and participants
3. Strengthened relationships with long-term institutional collaborators

The overwhelmingly positive testimonials and institutional appreciation further confirm that the project achieved both its quantitative and qualitative goals. Beyond celebration, the event deepened community bonds, reinforced shared values of open knowledge, and positioned the Kwara Wikimedia Team for continued growth and sustainability.

Overall, the project was impactful, engaging, and aligned with the broader mission of advancing free and open knowledge in Nigeria.
