1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

The creation of Wikipedia and its sister awareness project in Plateau State is aimed at establishing a strong motivation to accept and use Wikimedia materials among the youth especially students in tertiary institutions in plateau State.

 This is in addition to exposing and assisting them to acquire a wealth of digital technology and research to enable them to contribute significantly to articles that will further the development of plateau State through multi-pronged development, as well as the transfer of knowledge and  skills learned to contribute.  content with original images for Wikipedia.
 This training has the opportunity to fill the existing news gaps on various topics related to plateau  with the help of experienced editors;  Top local and foreign academics, organizations, tourist sites such as historical and research sites, and others in plateau state are not featured in Wikipedia.

 Also, unlike other states where there is training and presence of the Wikimedia community, there has never been a training or edit-a-thon to train people and inform them about Wikimedia projects and how to contribute.  they are not.  in plateau state.

Recruitment of 40 new editors in various high schools in plateau state. This will enable full participation of students from various institutions in plateau state.

Building awareness of Wikimedia among Students And other people in plateau State. This is to educate the student on the different uses of Wikimedia project and to change their thinking about Wikipedia and other projects. brothers. Session on Off-Line/Creative Awareness: This is a one-on-one session for participants. The method will also be used to raise awareness of the work of the Wikimedia Foundation. Online Training Session: This is an intensive training on how to promote or contribute content on Wikipedia and its sister projects. Offline Training Session and edit-a-thon: This is a hands-on keyboard training where new editors will be given a way to practice what they have learned.

Sufie Alyaryasie, I am the project leader. I participated in several Wikimedia Programs in Kaduna and Kano, Hamza DK, a Wikipedia contributor and editor of Wiktionary, he organized the Wikipedia forum and facilitates and participates in many Wikimedia projects. M Bash is an experienced Wikimedia editor and has experience in editing content. He has organized and been a moderator in many Wikimedia events. Gwanki, a professional Wikimedian, has organized several Wikimedia projects in Northern Nigeria. He's manager at Hausa Wikipedia And two of the people of Plateau state, Sarki malam and Anas Garba these people will help to organize trips in Plateau state.

The content of the program will focus on filling the information gap by updating existing stories and creating new Articles about people, places and organizations in plateau state, and writing them on Wikipedia in Hausa, through improve the accuracy of knowledge in accordance with the Wikimedia strategy. a move because it will further invest resources in Wikimedia's underrepresented communities around the world.

9. Who are the target participants and from which community? How will you engage participants before and during the activities? How will you follow up with participants after the activities?

This proposal is targeted at the diverse students (youth) community in plateau State.

We hope to engage these participants before the project implementation through the students' union of various institutions and Plateau Youth Representative at the federal level. The call for participation will be done through effective local communication channels which the students belong to using E-posters, and banners to promote the program on social media platforms. All Participants will be sent an online form to get their data and for registration.

During the project, I and my team member will be actively involved in facilitating the training and also making sure that the participants get the act and art of contributing to Wikipedia and sister projects; how to edit Wikipedia, Wikidata, Wiktionary and Wikicommons.

Also, the training is set to have 2 physical and online training/ edithatons to ensure that editors are properly guided on how to bridge the knowledge and content gap across various Wikimedia projects.

To ensure the sustainability of the project, After the events, participants will join as members in the Wikimedia community, this will keep them updated and encourage participation during wiki events. Participants will be added to the existing messaging channel for follow-up, updates, questions, etc. These participants would also be invited to future events.

10. In what ways are you actively seeking to contribute towards creating a safer, supportive, more equitable environment for participants?

The space-friendly policy of Wikimedia content will be summarized and read at the beginning of each event to remind participants and organizers of the importance of the space policy. We will follow Wikimedia's friendly space policy during the event. Wikimedia and UCoC friendly space policies will be distributed to participants prior to the start of the event. The venue will be safe and convenient.

The Plateau State Youth Council: The organization will help to coordinate and communicate with the students (youth) through the use of their social media platforms. Stakeholders in the field of education in plateau state to monitor and approve the implementation of the program in selected institutions in plateau bstate. Administration of plateau State University, College of Education (COE), Gindiri and Federal College of Education (FCE) Pankshin.

I mean learning how to coordinate and manage participants. How to improve the quality of the content gap on Wikipedia and its sister works. I look forward to learning from the participants to improve my community's work and experience priorities that increase the contribution of editors and the sustainability of new editors in various Wikimedia strategies.
