This campaign is geared towards people who are willing to enhance their contributions on Wikisource projects as well as for the newcomers, who are having the interest to start their Wikimedia journey with their first step as Wikisource (proofreading documents)
Challenge : Lots of resources ready on different Wikisource projects to be validated and proofread for a long time. By creating basic guiding / learning materials for the new editors, we want to spread the awareness and a sense of belonging among them, so that they can follow simple steps to validate the existing pages. This will not only enhance the skill but also their knowledge on the contents that are available in their native languages.
Different Wikisource projects / community of volunteers that have not participated in any contest yet, and possibly not globally known for their contents, can be provided the exposure to showcase their work and have a platform to be connected to the well known / established language Wikisource projects. Editions that didn’t have competitions before, or their contents are not in Wikisource before
Reach out their communities through ambassadors, and organize contest, sharing the experience from
We, the organizers, have experience in drawing newcomers to Wikisource in the form of competitions, and we would like to share this experience among the global audience, with the hope that more communities would be able to emulate our experience and drawing newcomers to the proofreading community of Wikisource
This will be the first global event related to Wikisource, and we hope to be able to hold this kind of campaign annually, something like Wiki Loves Monuments, Wiki Loves Folklores, etc.
