We were unable to finish our project, due to schedule conflict and other problems.

We have prepared our landing page, design, schedule and other plans regarding the Campaign
We have announced to the Wikisource community, received many supports and letter of interest, and we have reached to several potential ambassadors in 3 different regions: Francophone Africa, Anglophone Africa, and ESEAP. We have shortlisted the ambassadors, interviewed each of them, and pick our final candidates.

We had no further activities after that. Our group chat went silent.

I was going to create the materials for the ambassadors, such as PPT, videos. But since there was no further updates from my teammates, I also postponed my plan. I was waiting for further clarification if we were still doing the campaign or not.

How much this campaign helps underrepresented language communities to become more active in global participation.
We hope to share the experience from communities with successful Wikisource contest, and emulate that in other Wikisources, and provide.
That this campaign work globally, not just locally, and to organize this globally, the first time this campaign is held, we could hold it annually
> We learn that there are a lot of Wikimedians enthusiastic about this campaign. We received many tens of emails regarding wanting to be ambassadors for this campaign and then organize their local competitions and train new editors. I believe there is a genuine need for this kind of event, and making these kind of resources/materials available (Wikisource editing for newbies)
The impact on small Wikisource, the number of proofread pages after the event concluded
> One of our major decisions was to differentiate between small Wikisource (small projects) and small communities. We saw a lot of need in the latter. Many editors from Africa, for example, speaks English and France, yet their communities are underrepresented, their stories were often unheard, their needs unmet.
> We balanced to recruit ambassadors from 3 groups: Francophone Africans, Anglophone Africans (whose project, French and English Wikisource, were not small projects) with contributors from the Philippines, who were recently managed to hatch several new Wikisource projects in the languages of the Philippines.
How much this campaign helps underrepresented language communities to become more active in global participation.
> The aforementioned communities, Francophone and Anglophone Africans, are not incentivized to start new projects in their local languages, because their local languages are mostly oral languages with very few, seldom none of freely available materials available (scannable books, public domain manuscripts, etc.). In the end, we encourage them to design their local Wikisource Proofreading competitions in French and English Wikisource, but by selecting materials (e.g. French and English books) related to their origins (countries, cultures, languages, etc.), which are in more number than books in their own tongues.
> We hoped by doing that, their local communities (Wikisourcians, Wikimedians) can see that their effort can still make an impact, although not directly contributing in proofreading materials in their own language. I was planning to draw from my own experiences being part - and organizing - those kind of activities in my own multilingual country.
5. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences? (required)
We had to reschedule our Campaign timeline, because the first couple of months, nobody acted as leader and keep things moving.
Only after reaching our first due date, I kinda pushed my teammates to start, to reschedule, and to be more active. During this time I also have some issue IRL. I can only speak for myself, since I don't know what happened IRL for my teammates.
And then after New Year, I saw that we wouldn't be able to follow our second timeline.
And after few months of silence in our group, finally I asked Jacqueline that I couldn't continue this project no longer.
Learning point: assign a clear leader. As I mentioned during our talk with Jacqueline, although I started this grant, but this was originally not my idea, and I was under impression that the person with the idea was the leader. Unfortunately I might have been mistaken, or there was miscommunication.
Force majeur: in August, there was a major problem happened to me IRL, and I already told my teammates. I had offered to quit at that time, because I saw that the original timeline was no longer achievable under my state of condition. They (or one of them) insist on keep going. In January, another team member was having accident IRL and out of contact for several weeks without notice. Someone couldn't accept the incommunicado from that party, and it caused silent conflict. I suggested if the conflict is unavoidable, we could try changing group members (getting more people to get involved).
I was several time told by the person with the idea, that we would talk. But until today, we haven't talk.
Due to those reasons, I saw that our group is no longer fit to continue this project. I still cherish them as wiki friends and have nothing but sympathy to the hardships that each of us experienced, as they were during my time of crisis.
