En el primer semestre se realizó la primera fase del programa educativo de Wikiviajes en Mérida, arrojando los siguientes resultados:
- 55 páginas creadas,
- 58 páginas editadas,
- 100 editores, 83 estudiantes y 17 individuales,
- 200 participantes, 100 estudiantes, 50 profesores y 50 individuales
- 1000 fotografías subidas a Wikimedia Commons
Con estos resultados, incluyendo los anteriores proyectos aprobados, creemos correcto solicitar fondos para la segunda fase del programa educativo, que además de seguir trabajando con la Escuela Técnica Simón Rodríguez también incluirá:
- Trabajar con el Colegio Privado Santa Teresita de El Vigía
- Trabajar en estrecha colaboración con los profesores de ambas instituciones
- Trabajar con los estudiantes de cuarto y quinto año de ambas instituciones
Los lineamientos centrales de la propuesta apuntan al desarrollo de contenido sobre Venezuela, con énfasis en la región andina, así como a la continuidad del trabajo con las alianzas ya establecidas y a la expansión del número de editores. Debido a la escasa disponibilidad de información en línea sobre esta zona y, en general, sobre Venezuela, el programa tiene como objetivo aumentar la documentación y generar conciencia, involucrando a la comunidad en la difusión de su conocimiento. Esto contribuirá a fortalecer el movimiento al posibilitar que el contenido sea creado y mantenido por los propios habitantes de la región, reduciendo la dependencia de fuentes externas.
Asimismo, este proyecto no se limitará a la creación o mejora de contenido en Wikiviajes, sino que también incluirá la toma y carga de fotografías, integrando esfuerzos previos y orientándolos hacia la participación de la juventud venezolana.

Este programa que consta de cuatro meses, coincidente con el primer lapso de ambas instituciones antes mencionadas, tendrá las siguientes actividades:
- 17 de septiembre - 19 de noviembre: Clases con los estudiantes de ambas instituciones en donde se reforzará las lecciones aprendidas durante el piloto y la primera fase así como creación constante de artículos en Wikiviajes.
- 1 de octubre - 1 de diciembre: Recorridos fotográficos organizados por ambas instituciones. Dichas fotografías serán subidas a Wikimedia Commons.
- 2-15 de diciembre: Sesiones de apoyo e introducción al profesorado e individuales interesados en replicar este programa en otras instituciones.
Durante ese período, se llevarán a cabo talleres y conversatorios dirigidos a estudiantes, docentes y personas interesadas en diversos temas, principalmente relacionados con la seguridad en internet y la participación segura en los proyectos Wikimedia. Estos eventos estarán abiertos a participantes tanto de Mérida, Venezuela, como del ámbito internacional.
Somos conscientes del terremoto que sucedió el día 24 de junio de 2026, si bien ningún estado de la región andina fue afectado, estaremos alerta ante alguna eventualidad de esa índole y preparados con el Comité de Evaluación de Incidencias que está compuesto por expertos en seguridad nacional para evaluar cambios si llegan a ser necesarios.

Los participantes serán, principalmente, estudiantes de la Escuela Técnica Simón Rodríguez, Colegio Privado Santa Teresita y residentes de Mérida, aunque no se excluirá a quienes deseen participar desde otras ubicaciones fuera de la misma.
Una vez finalizado el proyecto, se ofrecerán talleres de capacitación y edición con el fin de integrar a la comunidad en los proyectos de Wikimedia y fomentar la creación de contenido de alta calidad. Los canales de comunicación en Telegram se mantendrán activos para mantener a la comunidad informada sobre próximos eventos y facilitar el contacto con los organizadores.
Posteriormente a las actividades, se establecerá un seguimiento con los participantes, promoviendo su participación en Wikiviajes mediante recordatorios sobre talleres y oportunidades de colaboración, además de reconocer públicamente a quienes realicen aportes destacados.
