Agbalagba/Yoruba Wikipedia Translation-athon
Yoruba Wikipedia is 4th most largest African language Wikipedia and the largest of the three language Wikipedia in Nigeria. One contributor was awarded the prestigious Wikimedian of Year Award in 2012. Over the years the growth of this language Wikipedia has declined in term of contents and contributor. This project aim to promote its growth in terms of contents and contributors through various training on how to use the contents translation tool. This is one of the simplest ways to train new editors on how to contribute to Yoruba Wikipedia. Since participants are going to be restricted to only native speakers of the language, people who can read and write correctly in Yoruba language, we can easily retain participants after the various training.
