Project Goal

- Recruit new editors.
- Increase skills for existing editors.
- Add or improve citation content in Wikipedia articles.
- Promote the use of Wikipedia as a reference tool for librarians.

[edit]Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:
1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?
- Two online trainings and one physical editathon
2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.
- We have informed WUGN here, The Nigerian library Association Kwara State Chapter, National Associations of Library and Information Science Student North-Central Chapter, the Heads of Departments of Library and Information Science Schools, National, Public, Academic, Private, Research, Special and School Libraries in Kwara State.
3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.
- We will also share this project on various social media handles such as Facebook, Whatsapp Wikibrarians in Nigeria, NLISSA Executives, Nigeria Library Association Kwara Chapter group, and Twitter to encourage participation of many library students and librarians in Kwara State.
4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?
- Yes, we expect all participants to have an internet enabled device and at least basic computer knowledge.
6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?
- We will add them to the existing Wikibrarian Whatsapp follow-up group to further engage them. The group will provide them with tips on using citation hunts tool, adding verifiable and reliable references to articles on Wikipedia. In addidtion, We will send a post-event questionnaire and also provide a cheatsheet they can use when unsure.
7. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:
8. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?
- This campaign will serve as a follow-up to the September WikiGLAM awareness training/editathon for librarians in Kwara State.
Impact

- Number of events: 3
- Number of participants: 30

- Number of articles created or improved: 100
- Number of repeat participants (for projects that include a series of events): 15

- We have a strong team of 4 experienced Wikimedians who will lead the campaign.
