[edit]Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:
1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?
- We plan to host one training + editathon in association with the Techpoint Africa on Saturday, April 9. This event will also be part of the community exhibition on Nigerians and in diaspora who had made great technology impacts.
2. How will you let your community know about the event? Please paste links below to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions.
- In addition to posting the event on the discussion page of Wikimedia Nigeria User group and posting to social media. We will also send invites to various individuals.
- This will be the first Black History Month editathons in Lagos, Nigeria
3. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event?
- I will lead on this project as i have experience in editing Wikipedia.
We also have experienced editors like Kambai Akau and Medi Ashioma
- I feel equipped to give guidance to editors with the participants that are currently committed, and we are reaching out to the Nigeria Wikimedia Usergroups to confirm that other experienced editors who can provide detailed and comprehensive support are available.
4. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?
- This editathon will be designed to offer support for participants without prior knowledge of Wikipedia. The event schedule will emphasize recruiting and training new editors, with focus on Tech areas, providing resources and fact sheets with citations for simple edits and providing a list of existing articles to be improved.
- Participants will also be be advice to come with their personal computer.
5. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?
- Participants will be added to a telegram group, which will notify them about events and program in the future, including future editathons if this one is a success. To determine impact and interest, participants will also be given a post-event survey, in which they will be asked to rate their previous familiarity with Wiki(p/m)edia, gender representation in Black history, and the research resources available at this and other local institutions.

- This event will simply celebrate Black History month and ensure more contents Black history are available on Wikipedia.
Impact
[edit]How will you know if the project is successful and you've met your goals? Please include the following targets:
- We anticipate at least fifteen students from the partnering educational institutions to attend as participants, with additional participants from the general public. We will consider the event a success if we have reached fifteen new editors and created or improved fifteen articles relating to artists with marginalized gender identities.
