Project Plan[edit]

Activities[edit]

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:

Because of the covid pandemic and the theme of the contest, we cannot organize a photohunt or visits with large groups. So we will propose to the members of our community to visit health organization in small groups (2 or 3 people maximum).

For the retention of the participants, we will organize an online photo challenge after the contest. Each month during 6 months, the participants will have to take and upload pictures on a theme. We will give them some money to purchase the internet data.

1. What content will the contest focus on, and why is it important to your community?

Wiki Loves Africa 2021 in Senegal will focus on photo shooting activities under the theme "Health". Pictures will be uploaded on Commons and will be used to illustrate Senegalese related articles on Wikipedia and on its sister projects.

2. How will you let people know about the contest?

We will set up social media pages (Facebook, Twitter ) to reach people online. Last year' participants will be contacted.

3. How will you judge the contest and award prizes?

A panel of 3 judges will set criteria and will select 3 best images based on these criteria. The composition is under discussions and we would like to have one professional photographer, one wikimedian and one person from a health organisation. The jury will have at least one woman.
We will also award the best participation in each region of the country. The criteria will include quality, number and value of the pictures.

4. For photo contests, what is the strategy to get images used on projects?

We will ask regular editors from our community to add pictures on the wikipedia articles. It worked very well last year.

5. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:

We will run only one workshop, with less than 10 participants.

6. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

Impact[edit]

How will you know if the project is successful and you've met your goals? Please include the following targets and feel free to add more:
