Project Goal[edit]

Choose one or more of the following goals. You can add or delete goals as needed.

  1. Add or improve content
  2. Recruit new editors
  3. Engage existing editors

Project Plan[edit]

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:
1. What content will the contest focus on, and why is it important to your community?

Yes! This project will focus on adding files to Wikipedia pages that are lacking those type of files to illustrate them properly, the targeted files to be used are the files gotten from the various Commons annual photography contest

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

Kofan al'umma, Discussion page Ha UG, Facebook group

3. How will you let participants know about the contest? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

I would make use of the Hausa Wikimedians WhatsApp community group and also make use of all our social media platforms listed above.

4. How will you judge the contest and award prizes?
Note: Grantees, judges, and other contest leaders are ineligible to receive prizes. Grantees who are serving as judges may not receive gifts through grant funding.

- Tools:

We will provide rules for the contest, like the use of an edit summary with #WPWPHa. It would later be used for this tool, edit summary search. and to search every participant's entry. And to also adopt some criteria, like: - The article or section a participant is adding a photo should not have any previous image and the image has to be relevant to where it has been placed. 5. For photo contests, what is the strategy to get images used on projects?

This is not a phto contest but these categories of resources from the various Commons photography contest will be explored to get images to add to the Wikipedia articles.

6. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

How will you know if the project is successful and you've met your goals? Please include the following targets and feel free to add more:

For photo contests:

  1. Number of participants 15
  2. Number of new users 5
  3. Number of photos used on Wikimedia projects 500
  4. Number of articles created or improved with photos 200
