Goals[edit]

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?

  • Yes I did meet some goals and I am very happy with the project.

Outcome[edit]

Please report on your original project targets.

Target outcome Achieved outcome Explanation
Number of likes at the start of competition 39. Even though this wasn't part of our goals. 600 All these numbers where archived not through the ads but through engagement of the videos form the participants
Number of likes at the start of competition 38. Even though this wasn't part of our goals. 122
Hav at least 100 people participate 7 The number is way off the mark set this mainly because a number didn't believe that it's a real competition and number of thought it was a scam and most thought it was a share waste of time and other claimed to know of after they saw people being awarded on our facebook and Instagram channels.
50,000 views 10,000 This is to the fact that we had only 8 videos submitted and thus the number is down by far like that.

Learning[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

The Facebook ads these where so effective they reached a good number of people and the response was good from those ads.

  • What did not work so well?

People knowing if the competition was real or not. We had a number of people send us messages asking ho legit this competition was and even if we told them and even tell them how to enter a number of them did still believe. So I can say the publicity of the Wikipidea Community Zambia wasn't 100% effective during the competition.

  • What would you do differently next time?

At the end of the competition after seeing the Facebook and Instagram post on the dedicated channels people more than happy and are waiting to see what next the Wikipidea community in Zambia. But all in all I think that after the has been belt now the publicity is more effective now.
