Goals[edit]

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?

Yes, we managed to reach our goals for the event. We had 11 new editors outside Tirana who joined the event and worked with us to add and improve the articles related to cultural heritage of Albania. The event was a success too regarding our collaboration with the Museum of Korca, an important GLAM institution in our country.

Outcome[edit]

Please report on your original project targets.

Target outcome Achieved outcome Explanation
Number of events:1 Number of events:1 There was this one event planned for the city of Korca.
Number of participants:25 Number of participants: 15 Since the schools were on a 4 day vacation because of the 1st May, most of the students had moved from the city, and this affected our number of attendees.
Number of new editors: 20 Number of new editors: 8 There were less participants then we expected for the event.
Number of articles created or improved: 60 Number of articles created or improved: 63 We worked a lot on the articles and managed to reach our goal for the number of articles created or edited.
Number of repeated participants: 0 Number of repeated participants: 0 There won't be repeated participants since the other editathons will take place in different cities.

Learning[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

Something that worked quite well was working with the Education Program Dashboard for the first time from us as organizers of the hackathon. This turned out to be very productive, it helped us a lot to keep track of the progress made by the participants and it also helped them during their work, editing the articles. Also the event had coverage on the local media where one of the organizers gave an interview about the event taking place in the city, which you can see here.

  • What did not work so well?

We had less participants then expected. Since we used the Museum as a medium of communication with them, we couldn't get the information on time regarding the fact that at the chosen weekend they were having some days of from school, and this affected their attendance. This also affected the number of the edits. We were also expecting more engagement from the institution.

  • What would you do differently next time?

Next time we will have a very well structured communication with the participants, and not use the institutions as a medium, because in this way we can predict in a more correct way the number of participants expected.
