Project Plan[edit]

Activities[edit]

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings? An editathon including trainings.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using. The event is listed under the Art+Feminism Wikipedia annual campaign, and will be mentionned on Wikimédia Canada social network accounts.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings. The event is also being advertised on Art+Feminism online calender, Agenda du libre online calender (https://agendadulibre.qc.ca/) and Culture Montréal newsletter. The event is being held at Montreal congress hall, and the venue will produce a press release. We are also sending direct invitation to Montreal-based women groups such as Women’s Centre of Montreal, REQEF réseau québécois d'études feminists and Conseil du statut de la femme.

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals.
For example: User:I JethroBT No. We are going to have at least one person from Wikimédia Canada attending the event (name to be confirmed) to answer questions and provide support, but they won't be hosting the event per say.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them? Yes. Registered participants so far are either experienced Wikipedia contributors willing to help in the training of the new recruits, and most of the new contributors are already registered to the training sessions provided in the morning of the edit-a-thon. The venue provides high speed internet connection, and we are also providing a list of reliable sources to be used to edit content.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)? Through a Facebook group, participants can keep in contact with each other, share experiences of the event and make suggestions on how to improve future events. We will also send a press release and a newsletter to share the results of the event.

7. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below: We are doing a hybrid event, on-line and in person. The venue requests a proof of double vaccination in order to attend any event, and they have security staff screening the proof. Each participants in person will have his or her desk, at the distance stipulated by the Canadian gouvernment (1,5 meters from each other). Also, in-person attendees will be asked to eat at their desk, and put on their mask when talking to each other/going to the bathroom, etc.). 8. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?
