We will translate the metawiki interface of Igbo Wiktionary from English to Igbo Language. this is one of the major reasons why Igbo Wiktionary is still in the incubator

Project Goal[edit]

Choose one or more of the following goals. You can add or delete goals as needed.

  1. Recruit new editors: new editors will participate
  2. Increase skills for existing editors: many editors have not worked in the meta page before. this will improve the skill of many editors
  3. Add or improve content: new Igbo words will be added to metapage

I will be doing 5 edit a thons

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. 3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Many participants will be experienced editors. Some also have laptops. Those who are not experienced will be couched. we will also hire laptops for a few editors

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

We will continue to chat in social media. we will also be seeing each other regularly

7. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:

It will be in person but participants will not be up to 10 in each edit a thon

How will you know if the project is successful and you've met your goals? Please include the following targets:

  4. Number of articles created or improved: 1000

I have experienced editors. many of them have laptops and time to engage in the project

  • Hire of space - 150 X 5 = 750
  • Cost of internet data - 30 X 5 = 150
  • Hire of 2 Laptops - 25 X 2 X 5 = 250
  • Food and drinks - 140 X 5 = 700
  • Contingency - = 100
  • Total = 1950 USD
