  3. Join to participate in the global 2022 Wikimedia Hackathon.
  4. Recruit new editors inviting them to participate in a local pre-hackathon workshop and the Wikimedia Hackathon 2022.

Project Plan[edit]

Activities[edit]

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. What will you and other organizers spend your time doing?

We would organize pre hackathon meetups so participants would be prepared for the Hackathon properly.

Click on the link to see how we would spend our time doing the Hackathon.

How will you let others in your community know about your project (please provide links to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions)? Why are you targeting a specific audience?

I have notified the Ilorin Wikimedia Hub members on the official page, see here. I have also notified the WikiProject Nigeria, see here.

We are targeting a specific audience because they are in line with the technical activities that the global 2022 hackathon are based upon.

What will you have done at the end of your project? How will you follow-up with people that are involved with your project?

Create Wikipedia awareness.
Recruit new members.
Equip new and existing editors with needed skills.

Follow up would be through a refresher training, creating a telegram group to coordinate and assist participants after the training.

Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:
