1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

We are doing two trainings and two edit-a-thons

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages. You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

This project has been announced at the Nigerian Wikimedia user group (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_User_Group_Nigeria)

It has also been announced at the Nigerian Wikimedia Community WhatsApp Platform and the Art and Feminism events platform (https://artandfeminism.org/events/) 3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them? For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

I have been organizing Wikipedia events since 2017, I maintain a WhatsApp platform for participants where we discuss our work in Wikipedia. I will notify participants through this platform. I will also publicize the event through the University staff mail and website.

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals. For example: User:I JethroBT

I have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the project, Myself User:Ngozi osadebe,my friends User:Ezinne Njoku and User: Beatrice Ewa are members of the Surplus People in the Universities Research Group and are available to ensure that the project is successful. My regional Ambassador Zita Ursular aND Mohammed Sadat User:Masssly are always available to join us from remote and to answer our queries.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Yes participants have the skills and equipment to participate and contribute high quality content. Our participants are university lecturers and postgraduate students who are used to research. These set of people require minimal training to contribute high quality content. Many of these people have their personal computers. Moreover, Nnamdi Azikiwe Library, our venue for the event has well equipped computer laboratories for our use at minimal cost. Internet router belonging to Wikimedia Foundation but domiciled at Nnamdi Azikiwe Library is available for our use.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

After the event, participants will be engaged through meet-ups and our existing WhatsApp platform.

7. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:

8. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project? This project is one of the off shoots of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Library Art and Feminism Wikipedia edit-a-thon that lasted from 2017 - 2021.

Resources[edit]

What resources do you have? Include information on who is organizing the project, what they will do, and if you will receive support from anywhere else (in-kind donations or additional funding).

We have well equipped computer laboratories at Nnamdi Azikiwe Library which we can use. University Electric power connection and internet connectivity are available for our use. The Nnamdi Azikiwe Library has a stand by generator which we can use incase of electric power outage. MTN Internet router, Epson projector machine & screen and Public Address System belonging to Wikimedia Foundation but domiciled at Nnamdi Azikiwe Library are also available for our use. This project is being organized by Surplus People in the Universities Research Group, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. The Research group has experienced Wikimedians such as Ngozi Osadebe User: Ngozi osadebe, User:Ezinne Njoku and User: Beatrice Ewa. These three people are facilitators of Nnamdi Azikiwe Library edit-a-thon 2017-2021 and Let's make Wikipedia edit-a-thon inclusive 2021. The Research Group will receive no other support for this event.
