3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

I will communicate with the participants about the edit-a-thon through the various social media channels like Whatsapp, Facebook, Telegram and emails

I would need to support some of the participants with the equipment required to participate effectively in the edit-a-thon and to make their meaningful contributions.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

I will run a follow up programme with the participants by giving them some assignments to do and submit after the events.

7. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. Endorsements[edit]

  • The library population in the University of Ibadan is large and the editathons are a sure way of bring more of them into the Wikimedia fold. This is necessary so that they can learn the skills and help their user communities to also acquire the knowledge and how to tell their own stories by themselves AfricanLibrarian (talk) 19:35, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
  • <nowiki>User:Temilolub.52021 has been consistent in her approach to sharing her knowledge with her community of practice. The proposed events would be a great opportunity to support her as she applies what she learnt from the Wikipedia in African Libraries course AKibombo (talk) 14:40, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
