Project Goal[edit]

  1. Encourage community participation
  2. Document implementation ideas related to movement strategy
  3. Disseminate information about movement strategy recommendations to community
  4. Coordinate community discussions

Project Plan[edit]

Activities[edit]

  1. What community or communities will be involved in this movement strategy discussion(s)?
The Chinese Community (Taiwan, Hong Kong/Macau, and Mainland China) - Group discussion for the Taiwan and Hong Kong/Macau Community, and Individual discussion for the Mainland China Community
  2. How will you make sure everyone is invited?
I will send out the invitation to the Wikipedians in the community (email, Telegram, Whatsapp, and different social media platforms). At the same time, there will be announcements on wiki, in order to invite as many Wikipedians as possible.
  3. How will you document community discussion(s) and feedback related to movement strategy? Who will be responsible for documenting these discussions?
As the Chinese Community did not have the opportunity to discuss Wikimedia 2030 Movement Strategy, it is necessary to invite the community to share their thoughts. At the same time, the conversation in the Chinese community will support the global conversations for the current stage of discussions. The documentation will be in parallel with the discussions. There will be a final report after the conversations. The Wikipedians can share their ideas and contribute to the Movement Strategy.
  4. What is your facilitation plan to support productive discussions around movement strategy? Please also provide a link to a Friendly Space Policy that will be implemented to support these discussions.
The conversation in the Chinese community will support the global conversations for the current stage of discussions. The Wikipedians from the Chinese Community can share their thoughts in the discussions, in order to catch up the progress of the Movement Strategy and contribute to the current stage of the global conversation, and then I will share the result with the Core Team and the public. The final report will be in both English and Chinese.
  5. If you are requesting funding for online tools or services to support participation, please describe these services and how they will be used. If not, please write N/A.
There will be coordination/documentation/translation service for the discussion.
  6. If you are translating movement strategy materials, in what languages will you be supporting translation? Who will be responsible for doing the translations? If not, please write N/A.
Chinese/English - Venus Lui (The Movement Strategy Transition Web Hub will be translated. The pages of the global conversations in December 2020 and January 2021 will also be translated.)
  7. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined in the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:
N/A - The conversation for the Chinese Community will be online.
    • Once you have completed the risk assessment protocol, please contact strategy2030(_AT_)wikimedia.org to confirm and finalize additional budget and logistical needs.
    N/A
  8. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?
It is important to include the Chinese Community in the Movement Strategy Global Conversations.
