Project Plan[edit]

Activities[edit]

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:

1. What is the purpose of the event you're attending and why is it important that you attend?

OpenCon is a platform for the next generation to learn about Open Access, Open Education, and Open Data, develop critical skills, and catalyze action toward a more open system for sharing the world’s information—from scholarly and scientific research, to educational materials, to digital research data. I would like to attend the conference to promote Wikimedia Movement to the other participants.

2. Will you be presenting at the event?

Yes, I will be doing a short talk about Wikimedia Movement, especially about Wikipedia Education Program.

3. What kind of outreach activity do you plan to do?

I would like to deliver a presentation at the event. At the same time, I would like to build up some connections with the other participants at the event.

4. How will you let other participants know about your outreach activity?

Yes, I will be doing a short talk about Wikimedia Movement.

5. Do you have a specific networking plan? (e.g. specific people, organizations, groups you would like to develop partnerships with)

SPARC is a global coalition committed to making Open the default for research and education. SPARC empowers people to solve big problems and make new discoveries through the adoption of policies and practices that advance Open Access, Open Data, and Open Education.

6. What is your plan to follow-up with new contacts?

I will keep the connections with the other participants and also I will write a blog post about attending the event.

Impact[edit]

How will you know if the project is successful and you've met your goals? Please include the following targets as applicable:

  1. Number of presentation attendees: 200
  2. Number of new potential partners: 30
  3. Number of outreach activity participants: 20
  4. Number of new editors:20
