Learning

[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?
  1. We maximised the benefits of social media platforms to stimulate the performance of our local contributors. For example, the local organiser created a WhatsApp group where 80% of the local participants engaged themselves throughout the window period of the contest.
  2. The ranking table introduced by the international organiser to showcase contributions by countries helps the contributions of our local participants. Many of the contributors perceived it as a means of promotion of their nationality.
  3. Some of the contributors were influenced by the introduction of local prizes.
  4. We partnered professional photographers organisation for quality photos.
  • What did not work so well?
  1. Revision and approval stage of the grant took over 4weeks. Therefore, it delayed the launch and upload session of the contest.
  • What would you do differently next time?

1. Grant proposal will be submitted early to expedite review and approval processes. 2. Extend an invitation to external funding partners for additional funding to support activities such photo walks in the next edition.
