Goals
[edit]Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?
- We met all our set goals except where we indicated that 500 Images will be uploaded but only 476 were eventually uploaded .
Outcome
[edit]Please report on your original project targets.
Target outcome | Achieved outcome | Explanation |
If at least 25 people participates | Exceeded | |
If three months after the contest, 75 (and 15%) of uploaded images are used on wiki projects | Still in progress | The report period not yet elapsed |
If at least 500 images are uploaded to Wikimedia Common | 476 images | Not exceeded |
If at least 13 monuments are photographed | Over 13 Monuments were photographed | Originally , we focused on the 13 national monuments from the south west, however due to the wider publicity of the event. Photographers from other regions such as east and North of the country actively participated. Therefore, we were able to have a more countrywide photograph of our monuments. |
Learning
[edit]Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:
- What worked well?
- Our partnership with a local professional photographic association which resulted in a more quality images.
- We embarked on comprehensive publicity using social media and some other print media in the country. This led to a wider coverage.
- What did not work so well?
- Application for the fund came too late, therefore fund came mid way to the project life span.
- The period allocated for the event
- We under budgeted for the figure to be paid for access to the monuments.
- The period allocated for the event
- What would you do differently next time?
- If we have opportunity to do the event again, we will ensure that fund are obtained before the event.
