1. What is the purpose of the meeting and why is it important to your community?

We would like to meet up at Bimenes and organize this event in which we want to create the article 50,000 of the Asturian Wikipedia. We want to celebrate this issue after years of effort. We also want to write and improve articles about Asturian language and take pictures of the Ruta los Molinos (Path of the mills in Asturian) and the event to upload them to commons.

1. In this event wikipedians from other projects will come together with members of the Asturian Wikicommunity in order to work about a minority language such as the Asturian. This will grant the opportunity for both groups to learn from each other. In addition, they will do so in a rural environment such as Bimenes

2. How will you let participants know about the meeting?

   I have already let participants know about the meeting and there are ten people that are interested in coming to the event from Asturias, Galicia, Madrid, Basque Country and Catalonia. Additionally people from Bimenes come to the event in order to learn about Wikipedia.

3. How will you keep participants engaged after the meeting is over?

   A lot of the participants are already regularly in contact and active Wikipedians. But this event will make it possible to extend and connect the relationship with the Wikipedia community.

It is really important also to have this event in Bimenes. Bimenes is one of the most Asturian speaker and support municipality.

I am the main organizer but I had the support of Wikimedia España (especially to contact users) and two of its members will attend the event. Also the town council of Bimenes has been involved and helped us in organizing and pay the celebration dinner.

Goals

• Strengthening relations between the different linguistic communities of Spain with Wikimedia projects. This relationship has already occurred in the past as in Peace Treaties in Art 30 x 30 Challenge or Intercultur and we want to continue to promote it in the future.
• Carry out our activity in a rural environment. We believe that there is a gap in this sense in Wikipedia and from Asturias (a traditional rural autonomous community) we want to give value and bring activities to environments where Wikimedia usually does not work.
• Celebrate the 50,000 articles in our minority language. An effort of very few people for many years.

Budget

Please describe how much grant money you spent for approved expenses, and tell us what you spent it on.

• Food and drinks = 176,8€ Dinner is paid by the Town Hall, but we need an amount for other food expenses (friday dinner, saturday sandwiches and special cake for the celebration).
• Gas costs and tolls = 117.84 € (for the travel of some users and organizational travels)
• Reimbursement of ticket: 308€ (flight from Barcelona)
• Possible bank fees to reimburse the ticket to users: 15€ (approximately depending on the bank)
• Accommodation (2 nights) = 488€
