Goals[edit]

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?

I think we meet some of our goals which were to get new quality pictures and to improve articles with those pictures. We didn't reach our goal to get more pictures than last year uploaded. Albania and Kosova promoted together the competitions and we did one ceremony for both countries in Kosova. A joint jury of five members was shared with Kosova: Samir Karahoda (photographer), User:Albinfo (de.Wikipedia and Albania Commonist), Besnik Hamiti (photographer, TV producer and Wikipedian) and Shkrumbin Brestovi (FLOSSK member of the board and Wikipedian.

Several promotion channels were used. We sent press releases to media getting published in many of like Albanian Wikipedia twitter/facebook account. On Open Labs and Flossk mailing list and websites.

Awards provided to included gift cards from a camera shop for photographers, their printed photos in large formats and certificates. For editathon contributors, we provided books to the best contributors.

Increase the number of freely licensed photographs of protected cultural monuments in Albania; Y

We collected 381 high quality photographs during the one month run .

Create new articles about protected cultural monuments of Albanian; Y We did a 2 day edit a thon during Wiki Weekend 2016.
Illustrate already exiting articles about protected cultural monuments in Albanian language Wikipedia;Y During the edit a thon, the main goal was te create new ones, since the majority is missing, but we improved the existing articles also.
Promote the donated content through social media and other channels;Y we promoted on Albanian Wikipedia twitter/facebook account. On Open Labs and Flossk mailing list and websites.

At least 600 photographs uploaded and kept after review;	382	This year we have high quality pictures, but less than 600. We contacted personally at least 3 professional photographers who volunteer for hiking agencies. They have thousand of very high quality photos. But they don't agree to publish them on commons with CC licenses. We had the same problem with the WLE competition. They don't have information about it. So we need to work more on promoting CC licensing and to think about more creative prizes.
At least 20 new articles about cultural monuments in Albanian Wikipedia and other Wikipedia languages, and in other Wikimedia projects (Commons, Wikivoyage);	+300	exceeded - During and after WLM contest we have created more than 300 articles about Cultural Monuments of Albania. In 3-4 December 2016, during annual Albanian Wikipedia Conference in Tirana we organized a two-days edit-a-thon, around 30 articles were created/improved from 18 participants (most of them new Wikipedians).

What worked well?

This year we had almost 90% of the pictures uploaded with very high quality resolution.

What did not work so well?

Participation were not that high as we expected, maybe we need to work more on the promotion and request more money for the prizes. We should Promote more the CC licensing and the importance of it. Some very experience photographers didnt participate only because of licensing. They would only agree if their photo would be copyrighted.

What would you do differently next time?

We should contact more photoghrapers that are willing to participate and do at least one Wikiexpedition.

Remaining funds[edit]

We were discussing with the group and thought that the best way is to reuse this money for the Wikimedia infobooth people that will host it at OSCAL conference on 13-14 May. Leon and Rilind are part of Albanian UG from Kosova, Leon has started an TPS grant here but he has difficulty to apply. So how about him to withdraw that application and we use the money left from WLM to sponsor their trip here. And i of course will help them with the report and invoices.

But if this reallocation bring any problem with my Wikimania scholarship then i will follow the procedure to send the money back. Please suggest me whats the best option.
