Part 1: The Project[edit]

Summary[edit]

In a few short sentences, give the main highlights of what happened with your project. Please include a few key outcomes or learnings from your project in bullet points, for readers who may not make it all the way through your report.

This year our main task has been to make known about the contest to different institutions, public and private, for their better inclusion in the cultural agendas of these places. So, the main activity has been the dissemination of the event nation wide. The contest in its 2017 edition left us fewer photographs compared to the previous edition but also left us a greater and new participation of people. We believe that from now on we will try to carry out the photographic exhibition after the month of April, which is the start date of the school and university academic year in Peru, or depending of have a nice or important place where we can do it. We planned this part of our work focused on opened spaces to meet and share the WLM experience with artistics and heritage protective collectives, in Lima and in other cities of Perú.

Project Goals[edit]

Please copy and paste the project goals from your proposal page. Under each goal, write at least three sentences about how you met that goal over the course of the project. Alternatively, if your goals changed, you may describe the change, list your new goals and explain how you met them, instead.

  • To strengthen the team of wikimedistas summoning participation of people who live outside of capital and to link them to the process of construction of the chapter wikimedia Peru

We just, in these days, were re-recognized as affilliate UG, so we, still are here, more strong and more actives. With more people from some institutions that will be important to us, like people from Catolical Univesity and some others wikimedians. People from other cities are in too, in our jury and as special linkers with offices of Culture Heritage.

  • To obtain more photographs and more participation in the WLM from Peru, also to involve new offices or public and to strengthen the relation with the ministry of culture.

We have, now, the attention and compromise of Culture Ministry to carry on up this project, in 2019 edition with more time and more plans. Start with the awards ceremony in the principal place of the Culture Ministry is a one example.

Story[edit]

  • This should not be a list of what you did. You will be asked to provide that later in the Methods and Activities section.
  • Consider your original goals as you write your project's story, but don't let them limit you. Your project may have important outcomes you weren't expecting. Please focus on the impact that you believe matters most.

We start our second edition of WLM in Perú with many plans and goals to achieve our project. After our first experience we had a plan to carry out this project to others specials regions in Perú, where there are a many movement around the heritage linked to tourism and travels routes.

It is so we have had several meetings with some collectives and institutions and, tourism companys too in five regions. With they we share information and plans about our second part of our project, and they showed us some interest in they participation.

Happily we had a WLM edition with more photos and more participation than the fisrt, and we were build several very nice lists about arqueological heritage from documents of Culture Ministry, so our goals in this sense was achieves.

Sadly, already in Lima again, we had very big floods in Perú, in Lima and many others parts of country, in this situation we priorized our participation in many activities to genenerate data of this towns flooded, this with OpenStreetMap Perú community and with others collectives of affected peoples.

With this situation we couldn't finished our project in that WLM edition. Thinking in the next one, that we was in time to start, We start our third edition of WLM. So we started and, continued the conversations and coordinations with some public offices to have a place to can held our expositions and awarads ceremonies form 2017 and 2018 editions. Finally we had the attention form the principal office of heritage in Culture Ministry in Perú, and a very big an immportant room in their exposition hall's. Now we hope be able to develop this exposition and carried to some other places after there.

In Lima we can organized some mettings and coordinations with the instagram community in Peru, with they we can realized how is that we can propose them some activities. The most important way is printing fotos, or editing some publications with the fotos from WLM here. https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikimedia-pe/2018-March/000080.html

Learning[edit]

The best thing about trying something new is that you learn from it. We want to follow in your footsteps and learn along with you, and we want to know that you took enough risks in your project to have learned something really interesting! Think about what recommendations you have for others who may follow in your footsteps, and use the below sections to describe what worked and what didn’t.

We've learn that we need more and better spread material, like books or some publication like it, that contain all the photos that we have since our first WLM edition, in this publication we need to give to photograohers a special space to promote its work and their contribution to WLM. For press or Heritage Institutions this kind of publications is more usefull and serious than afiches or letters invitations.

In the same time, we learn that our gobernment have betters ears in others cities than Lima, in Cusco or Arequipa, for example, we have very good response from officers, but we don’t have permanent work with they in their cities, it was common that they ask to us for organize others activities like editatons or photowalks.

What worked well[edit]

What did you try that was successful and you'd recommend others do? To help spread successful strategies so that they can be of use to others in the movement, rather than writing lots of text here, we'd like you to share your finding in the form of a link to a learning pattern.

'* Our oncoming to the Culture Ministry has opened for us some spaces to explain them the potential of WLM for social participation and attention about our heritage. On May 21, 2017, we had an interview for the Salvemos las Huacas project. In September 2018, the Peruvian news agency "Andina" published the news about the Wiki Loves Monuments. In September 2018, the Ministry of Culture of Peru published a tweet about the Wiki Loves Monuments. And facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/mincu.pe/videos/906326676421443 '

What didn’t work[edit]

What did you try that you learned didn't work? What would you think about doing differently in the future? Please list these as short bullet points.

  • We have a very good female members in our jury, this year we proposed one of them to the international jury but she don’t was part of this, so we couldn’t count with she in our local jury.
  • We could not carry out the second part of the project, because here in Peru there were very strong floods that canceled our plans and focused us on the development of responses for the emergency through collaboration with openstreetmap Péru.

Other recommendations[edit]

If you have additional recommendations or reflections that don’t fit into the above sections, please list them here.

Next steps and opportunities[edit]

Are there opportunities for future growth of this project, or new areas you have uncovered in the course of this grant that could be fruitful for more exploration (either by yourself, or others)? What ideas or suggestions do you have for future projects based on the work you’ve completed? Please list these as short bullet points.

  • Next step is re-launch our face to face meetings in our process with WLM 2018 results and winners with our awards ceremony and exposition.
  • Organize our WLM Perú 2019 edition
