PhilWiki Community is aiming to be a Wikimedia Chapter in 2021. It has been incorporated as Philippine Wikimedia Community Inc. for over year and it is the first time it is applying for a simple annual plan grant after several individual and group rapid grants. Our main objective is to build capacity as an emerging community. In 2021, it will sustain its programs and activities it has been conducting since 2015 such as different advocacy initiatives, building contents and closing knowledge gaps, networking and partnership with organizations and institutions, and bringing the Movement to the academe and vice versa. It will maintain its status as a not-for-profit company serving volunteers and affiliates in the country.

Programs[edit]

Capacity Building

Since its foundation, the community has grown from strength to strength as evidenced by the numerous activities it has organized and participated in to further its aims to promote the nation’s languages and cultural heritage, as well as the different Philippine language-based Wikipedia editions. It has always welcomed volunteers and participants who share our broad vision with us and we encourage anyone who is interested to take part.
