Welcome back from Wikimania 2025!

Participant

B20180

th.wikipedia, Thai language sister projects, Wikimedia Commons

Outcome

[edit]

I was selected as one of the admins to participate in the Users with Extended Rights Convening, learning about coding and two-factor authentication. I also learned additional features of extended admin privileges, which I believe I will be able to use to help the community in the long run.

Connections

[edit]
  • Aspere: As a Korean wiki administrator, he shares his knowledge of ancient Korean script and traditional writing styles. We also exchange techniques on translating and digitizing ancient documents.
  • NSzafran-WMF: She was the main moderator of the opening ceremony of the conference. In fact, she was the one who coordinated my presentation when I received the WikiCelebrate award earlier. We talked about our impressions of each other's roles.
  • Doc James: He's a medical expert. We've been sharing his insights into Wikimedia Thailand's operations over the past few years, including his brief stay in Thailand.

Next steps

[edit]

I have new activities planned and anticipate building the next generation of leaders. Shortly after this meeting, I also approved a bot on the Thai Wikipedia and nominated a user to be an administrator of the Thai Wikiquote.

Anything else

[edit]

Previously, at the ESEAP Strategy Summit 2025 in the Philippines, I had been sick with COVID. For this meeting, I didn't expect that my roommate would also be sick with COVID. So, I used the experience I had at the previous meeting to help him and took him to the hospital for treatment (meaning, I switched roles from being a COVID patient to being a caregiver for a COVID patient). Despite the difficulties, we were both able to return home safely after the meeting, along with new learnings abroad.
