Proposed participation[edit]

Goal and expected impact[edit]

As a result of the poster, it is our hope that we will encourage other educators and scientists to explore Wikipedia on their own, discuss best practices for incorporation, and talk about curriculum development for how one can successfully use Wikipedia in the classroom. It is our hope to use this presentation to further develop Wikipedia as a scientific communication platform. We would also like to interact with other Wikimedia members at AAAS if they are attending and would like to share a dialogue.

Budget breakdown[edit]

  • Accommodation: USD approx $220 per night x 6 nights = USD 1500
  • Per Diem for food: (if you do this) is $69 a day for six days approx = USD 400

This room will be shared with one of my co-teachers for the Wikipedia course we teach (username: Sciencelibrarian)

Other instructions[edit]

  • Do you need advance disbursement? If so, please let us know here, and make sure you are submitting this request at least 1 month before the event. Advanced reimbursement would be preferred if this is possible

Endorsements[edit]

  • Having been involved with these editors' efforts to connect the scientific community at Cornell with Wikipedia, I enthusiastically endorse this grant request as an expansion of those efforts. Spike Wilbury (talk) 15:25, 11 November 2016 (UTC)
