Project summary
[edit]Briefly summarize your project proposal.
- This project is designed to introduce and train both new and existing Wikimedia contributors in Jigawa State on the fundamentals of editing and contributing to Wikidata. As a central open data repository, Wikidata plays a crucial role in supporting Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects by providing structured, machine-readable information. Through a series of practical workshops and guided sessions, participants will learn how to create and edit items, add reliable references, connect data across Wikimedia projects, and apply best practices for ensuring data quality. This program will engage community members, students, librarians, and digital volunteers, with the aim of increasing both the quantity and quality of data related to Jigawa State and Northern Nigeria on Wikidata.
