From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Project summary

[edit]

Briefly summarize your project proposal. African women have played significant roles in sports across the continent athletes, coaches, referees, administrators, and pioneers. However, on Hausa Wikipedia, content about African women in sports is extremely limited. Many notable personalities do not have articles, while others are only represented by short stubs.

Since Hausa-speaking readers rely heavily on localized knowledge sources, the lack of adequate content contributes to a knowledge gap. There is a need to improve representation, visibility, gender balance, and sports-related coverage on Hausa Wikipedia. This writing contest aims to address these gaps by encouraging the creation and improvement of well-referenced articles on African women in sports.
